What this module trains
Pushback & Towing covers the highest-risk routine movement on the ramp. Trainees rehearse the complete sequence — equipment connection, clearance, the push itself, the bypass pin, disconnection and the visual all-clear — and handle the failure cases that make pushback dangerous: a premature brake release, an unexpected stop, a lost intercom.
What the trainee learns
Towbar and towbarless connection procedure
Roles: headset operator, tug driver, wing walker
Clearance, brake and steering-bypass sequencing
Stopping and abort criteria mid-push
Disconnection and the visual all-clear signal
Scored competencies
Every run of this module is graded on the same four criteria, so two trainees are measured on the same scale and progress is visible run over run.
Sequence order
Communication with the flight deck
Abort decision quality
Final all-clear correctness
