What this module trains
Fire Safety puts the trainee in front of a fire on stand and trains the decision that matters most: what kind of fire is it, and what extinguishes it. Trainees identify fire classes — fuel, electrical, equipment — match each to its extinguisher, and rehearse the approach, discharge and follow-up that keep an incident from spreading.
What the trainee learns
Fire classes found on a ramp stand
Matching extinguisher type to fire class
Safe approach distance and wind direction
Extinguisher handling and discharge technique
When to fight the fire and when to evacuate and call for help
Scored competencies
Every run of this module is graded on the same four criteria, so two trainees are measured on the same scale and progress is visible run over run.
Fire class identification
Extinguisher selection
Approach and discharge technique
Evacuate-vs-fight decision
